Just One of The Many People We Have Helped

My story started one regular work week in late March 2016. I started getting headaches that wouldn’t go away kept persisting over 5 days. In keeping with our typical dynamic, my wife worried for the stereotypical WebMD worst while I was afraid that a doctor might laugh me out of their office with the advice “you have migraines now, good luck.” Meanwhile, I’m researching tension headache neck stretches for my self-diagnosed ergonomics illness. Everything came to a head on Easter Day when I was having really odd cognitive symptoms like everything feeling surreal and the inability to make a decision. Unfortunately, my compromised brain couldn’t self-identify as compromised but luckily my wife and mom noticed I was acting weird and had me call my doctor to describe everything. At the urging of my doctor and family, we left our family get together for the emergency room to get a brain scan. I first knew it was pretty bad when the CT technician, who normally stoically give your results to the doctor to be interpreted, asked me “… uh so you’re sure you’re not having any vision problems?” “… Yeah pretty sure, but you can go ahead and add anxiety to my symptoms now if you want.” Sure enough, a few minutes later a doctor ran into our room to interrupt the billing person with “YOU HAVE A HUGE MASS IN YOUR BRAIN!”
